The AUB B23 project represents a major mechanical infrastructure undertaking within the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). This clinical building, located in Beirut, Lebanon, required high-performance, hospital-grade mechanical systems to meet the strict standards of healthcare environments.
Executed by MEMO between July 2005 and April 2007, the project was managed under the supervision of Consultant AME, with an EM contract value of $1.46 million USD. MEMO was responsible for the complete mechanical scope, ensuring precision, hygiene, and reliability in every aspect of the installation.
Systems Installed by MEMO:
HVAC Systems: Chilled and heating water systems, Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Air Handling Units (AHUs), ventilators, duct networks, and split units for climate control in sensitive medical areas
Plumbing Systems: Comprehensive sanitary and domestic water distribution
Medical Gas Systems: Critical infrastructure for patient care, including oxygen, vacuum, and compressed air networks
Firefighting Systems: Fully integrated fire safety network
Building Management System (BMS): Centralized monitoring and control for operational efficiency
The AUB B23 building required exacting coordination across trades, strict adherence to medical codes, and continuous quality control to ensure compliance with healthcare facility standards. MEMO’s execution ensured the facility operates with high reliability and safety, supporting AUB’s mission of excellence in medical education and care.
This project highlights MEMO’s deep expertise in healthcare-focused mechanical works and long-standing partnership with AUB on mission-critical developments.
